ABOUT US

Australian Vietnamese Arts & Culture (AVAC) is a community‑led collective dedicated to celebrating the richness and resilience of Vietnamese heritage in Australia. Founded in 2010 by Thuy Dang, AVAC has grown into a vibrant home for artists, performers, and cultural practitioners of all ages who share a passion for Vietnamese arts and identity.

Since its beginnings, we have showcased the beauty of Vietnamese traditions through music, dance, costume, and storytelling. Our work is grounded in connection — connecting generations, connecting communities, and connecting the past with the present. Through festivals, cultural showcases, workshops, and collaborative projects, AVAC creates spaces where Vietnamese identity can be expressed with pride and where the wider Australian community can experience the depth of our culture.

We honour the journeys of our elders, uplift the creativity of our youth, and nurture a thriving artistic community that continues to grow. AVAC remains committed to preserving cultural heritage while inspiring new forms of expression that reflect the evolving story of Vietnamese Australians.

    OUR MISSION

To preserve, celebrate, and share Vietnamese arts and culture in Australia by creating inclusive spaces for performance, learning, and community connection. We empower artists of all ages to express their identity, honour their heritage, and contribute to Australia’s multicultural story.

OUR VISION

A thriving, intergenerational community where Vietnamese arts and culture flourish — inspiring pride, creativity, and cultural understanding across Australia and beyond.
