Blooming Vietnamese Culture
A celebration of 16 years of nurturing Vietnamese arts, heritage, and intergenerational connection. This milestone honours the stories passed down from our elders, the creativity of our young people, and the vibrant cultural spirit that continues to blossom and spread throughout our community.
Carrying forward nearly 180 years of history from the Port Phillip Farmers’ Society, Berwick Show has grown into more than Victoria’s agricultural icon, it has become a vibrant “symphony” of multicultural communities.
AVAC was proud to take part with our Velvet Wire Flower Craft stall, where soft chenille wires became a beautiful cultural bridge. From curious children to enthusiastic adults, everyone had the chance to create their own unique flower, each one reflecting personal creativity and joy.
AVAC presented the performance “Âu Cơ – Lạc Long Quân: 100 Eggs, 100 Children”, bringing to life the legendary origin story of the Vietnamese people at the Community Language Festival in Footscray.
The performance guided the audience through a range of emotions, with a standout moment when the children emerged from the symbolic “hundred‑egg sac,” filling the crowd with excitement and reminding everyone of the deep pride we hold in our cultural roots.
For over a decade, AVAC has had the joy and honour of joining the Moomba Festival, sharing the colours, rhythms, and spirit of Vietnamese arts and culture with Melbourne.
From our elders to our youngest performers, each year has been a celebration of heritage, creativity, and community pride. Moomba has become a place where AVAC’s story continues to grow, where Vietnamese culture shines brightly among the many voices that make Melbourne so vibrant.
The Victorian Cup of Nations is more than a football tournament, it is a celebration of culture, unity, and community spirit in Victoria. The event brings together multicultural communities through sport, music, and international cuisine, showcasing the vibrant diversity of our state.
AVAC lit up the event with vibrant Vietnamese performances, blending music, colour, and culture to create memorable moments and spread pride across Victoria’s multicultural community.
AVAC was proud to participate in the Diaspora Fair at Collingwood Town Hall, joining communities from across the world to celebrate the richness of our shared heritage.
Through music, movement, and cultural expression, we showcased the beauty of Vietnamese arts and identity, standing alongside many cultures that make Victoria such a vibrant and inclusive place.
AVAC was delighted to join U3A Maribyrnong for a hands‑on Origami Workshop, sharing with the community the traditional art of paper folding.
It was a beautiful opportunity to connect across generations, explore creativity, and celebrate the gentle artistry that has been part of Asian cultures for centuries.
AVAC was proudly invited by the Premier to perform at the Premier’s Celebration Gala 2026. A beautiful night celebrating culture, community, and the vibrant spirit of Victoria.

AVAC was honoured to join the Australian Integrated Fijian Association of Victoria Incorporated at Collingwood Town Hall this Australia Day, a beautiful gathering that celebrated culture, connection, and the rich diversity that strengthens our shared community.

We’re excited to join the St Albans Lunar New Year Festival 2026, one of Victoria’s biggest and most beloved cultural celebrations.
AVAC was honoured to share the colours, rhythms, and spirit of Vietnamese arts and culture in the heart of St Albans, a beautiful moment to honour our heritage and spotlight the creativity of our performers and artists.

To mark the 50th anniversary of Vietnamese settlement in Australia, Australian Vietnamese Arts and Culture presented a special musical performance, A 50‑Year Timeline – My Story, Our Story. The performance was accompanied by the screening of Our Brimbank – A Half‑Century Home, a short documentary honouring the journey to freedom and the Vietnamese community’s arrival in their second homeland.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Vietnamese settlement in Australia.
To celebrate this milestone, AVAC is proud to showcase an exhibition of AO DAIs across the three regions of Vietnam: North, Central, and South.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to AVWA, along with community groups such as SEMVAC and the Vietnamese Language School, for coming together to celebrate and strengthen our shared heritage here in Australia.

Robyn Singleton and Cas Bukor's Lake Dance exhibition on Friday evening, August 16 from 7pm at the New Port Bowls Club, 4 Market Street.
Artistic photos of the AVAC dance troupe and other ethnic dance troupes will be exhibited at The Outside Gallery in the coming days.
